Sam Wilfred Taylor began our journey back in the 1920’s. He originally trained as a butcher, but was sadly blinded during WW1. St Dunstan’s aided Sam in rehabilitation and enabled him to train as a poultry farmer alongside securing him his first tenancy for 50 Acres at Morley Farm in Shepshed, Leicestershire. He started off with mainly livestock including 25 pigs, 28 cattle and 100 turkeys and was helped by his trusty guide dog Susie.

Patrick Shaun Taylor, Sam’s Son, took to the farming business and looked after the machinery and cropping side. Pat developed the business from the livestock sector and established P S Taylor and Sons in 1972. This mainly focussed on Hedge Cutting, Combining Grain and working a Digger in the local quarry.

Pat’s two sons Shaun and Adam helped their dad grow the business with their main focus on whole farm management and ad-hoc contracting work. Taylors Agricultural Ltd was later established which took over and focusses on the contracting side of the business with P S Taylor and Sons managing the whole farm contracts.

We are now into our fourth generation with Shaun’s son Ben, and Adam’s son Oliver, who both work on the farm and oversee the day to day running of the business. We pride ourselves on managing Land, Farms and Estates and strive to keep ahead of the latest technology and systems in order to run an economic and environmentally sound business for our family farm and clients.
